Lies & Deception by Dezzy’s

Part 1: Lies and Deception by Dezzy’s

We are all the voice of the rescued. They need us all to speak up on their behalf and shed some light on local animal rescues and rescuers. It is NEVER ok, to take advantage of an innocent animal in need, for personal gain.

In Part 1, I am going to share just one of several eye raising incidents I came across in my research of Dezzy’s Second Chance Animal Rescue, Inc.  which is located in Boca Raton, FL, run out of a small store front.

Things just are not adding up when you view what the self promoting founder/president Sandra Dezelan is projecting to the public.   Earlier this week I shared my shock when I learned they were misleading fans on their facebook page about a senior dog, who was at Miami-Dade Animal Services and needed saving. Today, yet again my focus began on Facebook postings where Sandra got caught being less then upfront and honest.

What started as a shared posting of a senior dog who was dumped by her previous owners and needed rescue turned into an opportunity for Ms. Dezelan and her fans to promote herself, and Dezzy’s.

There were 50+ comments on the thread so I did some cropping, to focus on what I found disturbing and self serving.  Below please see the LIES & DECEPTION which were found as Sandra and her friends promoted not the rescue who was saving this dog, but giving accolades to Sandra and all that she ‘says’ she does.  This was not about the Princess, so why did it turn into the Sandra show?

Dessie. Beautiful senior who was saved by A Way For A Stray Rescue.
This was about Dessie, not about Sandra.

So in just 3 comments, she turned the focus to herself!  Looking for a pat on the back, and a boost of ego as this sparked her friends to begin praising her!(Doesn’t she do this enough in the press?)

Lies & deception exposed Dezzy's
Really just 3 comments, and I found two lies ????   Disgusting!  Who lies about helping needy dogs who sit at a kill shelter???   Sandra Dezelan!  that’s who!  She didn’t stop there though… read on!

lie 3 dezzies

Three lies at the expense of dogs !
Please keep reading and see the proof from two kill shelters which are located in the tri-county area.

Record requests were made to Palm Beach Animal Care (PBAC) and Miami-Dade Animal Services (MDAS)  to see just how many dogs Dezzy’s Second Chance Rescue is saving from death at area shelters.  She boasts how she pulls dogs, has saved thousands, but records show another story.

Why is Sandra lying about pulling dogs???

PBAC 2015-06-27 19-42-12

There it is folks!

The truth is Dezzy’s Second Chance Rescue does not PULL dogs out of MDAS!  She personally did adopt one though in May 2015.

So why LIE????

Sandra stated she was going to PBAC to pull dogs on the 16th of June, something she does frequently and shared how hard it is.  (please someone pass the tissues!)

But, truth is, she didn’t pull any dogs out of Palm Beach Animals Services on June 16th.  Records show in 2015 through June 19th,  Dezzy’s has only pulled four dogs.  All cute little designer pooches. One dog in January, and three in April.

 4 dogs PBAC

Why is the public being lied to ?
Why on so much social media do they state they pull dogs from DEATH ROW from Animal care and control??

Stay tuned for more shocking facts and faux pas.
Rescues should be transparent, not full of false lies and deception!

Dezzy’s Second Chance Rescue – Shame on YOU!

Today I was sent a copy of this Facebook post, asking me my opinion of Dezzy’s Second Chance Rescue of Boca Raton, FL

My Grade of the day: F for false!!!!

I am dismayed that a rescue would mislead their friends, fans, and strangers this way.  Using a post of a dog in need! A dog at the shelter! (2 counties away) A dog facing death after being dumped by her owners at 11 yrs old, at a shelter they are not authorized to pull from!

How dare they exploit this poor girls situation for their own accolades!

I am disappointed not more facebook fans are commenting.  I have questions concerning this posting,  WHY Dezzy’s , WHY did you post Aelita  and let your page members assume you were helping her?

  • On June 22, 2015 page posted a shared post from Miami Shelter Big,Bullies, Black  & Been Around  of Aelita at MDAS at 11yrs old who was surrendered by her family with a chain around her neck
  • (you don’t have any other recent shares of dogs at shelters in need on your page)
  •  a fan shares and comments, and you respond you can’t believe the big heavy chain around her neck noting what a horrible life she had.
  • 49 minutes later same person comments “Chain is horrible!..Better you have her & I know you will give her a better life. Thank you for loving her.”
  • 3 days go by,  Aelita sits at MDAS, in danger of being euthanized  –  You do not correct your ‘fans’ assumption ???
  • 3 days go by and you have been there commenting on Reviews of the rescue, but Sandra Dezelan,  you continue to let someone give you a compliment for saving a dog you did nothing for!!!

Why use a shelter dogs bad situation to play the crowd?

I welcome some answers from this rescue as I look deeper into them as I read some controversy.  I had another rescue on my radar I have been researching I wanted to share this week,  but you Dezzy’s got my attention!

Aelita's post to FB page

Aelita is still at MDAS and Dezzy’s Second Chance Rescue is not a registered and approved rescue organization with Miami-Dade County Animal Services.
There is an adoption hold for her for 6/28/15

Dezzy’s please shed some light on this situation!  Clarify what is going on within your 501c3 registered Non Profit Rescue.  You’ve got the spotlight, I welcome an explanation!

Readers, please do not take my opinions as your own, look at the details, look at the rescue and form you own opinion.

Welcome to Voice of The Rescued

Help  be the voice of the rescued dogs and cats!

It is a sad fact that rescues  in place to protect our animal friends are not all created equally.  It isn’t always easy to spot the questionable rescues, but if one raises a red flag of question in ones mind, it is our job to speak up for our furry friends.   Our job to protect the innocent.  Our job to tell what we know.  They can’t speak for themselves, send a text, or phone a friend.  I won’t turn a blind eye, and I hope you won’t  either.

We are their voice!

Here in Florida I have seen my share of good and bad rescues.  I will base my reviews on facts, and  opinions on quality of life for my furry friends. I will spend the time to research and dust off the corners to see beyond what they project themselves to be.

Too many people turn a blind eye to the bad side of rescue but sadly it exists. We owe it to the animals to show what is really happening in their World. We have to speak up, we have to question, and we have to share that knowledge we learn to make a difference.

I hope to leave my readers with a foundation in which to form their own opinions. Tools and questions to ask on their own when encountering a rescue group, and a place where they can submit their reviews and concerns.
